FRAXA has renewed grants to 11 research teams for an additional year. Generally, FRAXA grants and fellowships are funded for a single year, with the possibility of renewal if progress is good. These scientists have demonstrated outstanding progress in the first year of their FRAXA-funded projects. Their projects are at the cutting edge of biomedical technology, and we believe that their work will make a real difference to everyone affected by Fragile X.

We will announce additional awards - FRAXA's new Postdoctoral Fellowships and large Program Grants - soon, so stay tuned. This first round of funding totals $555,000; FRAXA expects to fund over $1.5 million in direct research grants in 2010.
