Friends, family, and supporters came together again at the Alleghany Inn in Sparta, NC, for the 19th Annual Fragile X Poker Run, continuing a powerful tradition started by organizers Jimmy and Dana Charlton. Since its inception, this event has raised over $350,000 for Fragile X research, a testament to the dedication of its participants and the strength of the community.
Attendees enjoyed scenic rides, live music, and an auction, all in support of FRAXA Research Foundation's mission to find effective treatments and ultimately a cure for Fragile X syndrome. Kaitlin Seifert, sister of Mikey—the event's “Rock Star”—captured the spirit of the weekend, saying, “Great times with great family and friends, raising funds for Fragile X research. FRAXA Research Foundation is on the cutting edge of developing treatments to help 'cure' Fragile X, not because we look to change those with Fragile X… Instead, we look to make life easier for them.”
The Fragile X Poker Run continues to make a meaningful impact, and this year's event was another unforgettable celebration of community, hope, and generosity. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and helped make this year’s event a memorable success!
2025 marks the 20th Annual Poker Run. Mark your calendars for August 1-3 for this spectacular event!
