Landmarks Light Up Fragile X Awareness Day 2020

Buildings, Bridges, and Monuments Illuminated FRAXA Teal on July 22, 2020

On July 22, Fragile X Awareness Day, we saw an incredible turnout with 67 buildings, bridges, monuments, and downtown regions lighting up teal to raise awareness for Fragile X syndrome. This was a remarkable increase from 2019, when 21 landmarks participated.

From Niagara Falls, where this tradition first began, to iconic sites across the US and Canada, the lights served as a beautiful reminder of the strength and unity within our Fragile X community. Though many of us could not gather in person this year, families and supporters safely visited local light displays and shared their experiences online, helping to amplify awareness through photos and videos.

We’re thrilled to see how this initiative continues to grow, and we’re grateful for everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this possible.
