Pie in the Sky Challenge
Fragile X syndrome (FXS) is the most common known inherited cause of autism and intellectual disabilities. The research that has already been conducted on Fragile X has led to new understandings in autism, Alzheimer’s and other brain disorders.
Many people think it’s a pie in the sky idea to believe FRAXA can cure this disorder and create breakthroughs for other diseases too. However, with strategic partnerships and by carefully funding bottlenecks in the current research pipeline, they have already validated dozens of potential therapeutics while also funding studies in gene therapy and gene reactivation.
To help raise awareness and funds for Fragile X syndrome, Nicole Eisdorfer created the Pie in the Sky Challenge. It’s easy to do, just post a video of yourself throwing a pie up and it landing on your face or head, or if you’re a bit less coordinated, have a loved one help you. Then challenge three more people to either post their video, donate or both.
Make a gift to help further research to find effective treatments and ultimately a cure for Fragile X syndrome .
